Bob the Builder

Bob the builder! Can we build it? Yes we can! Um, yeah, I think so.

Month 26 Archives

Hi Little One,

Late again on your letter, but we were on vacation so sue me. You're definitely turning into a little boy, and less baby. In fact yesterday Nini called you her sweet baby, and you said, "I'm not a baby, you are!" So there ya have it.

Your vocabulary is growing by the minute. You can string together more words in one sentence than some adults I know. You cracked me up the other day when you kept repeating, "We don't say shut up. It's naughty." Over and over and over you kept saying that you don't say "shut up." Which reminds me that you got in real trouble for the first time this month too. You wrote on my new car with your sidewalk chalk. It didn't hurt the car, but your daddy sure gave you an ear full. Even when I mention it to this day, you look down and your little bottom lip comes out. Your dad said this will be a good test to see what kind of a kid you are. Are you going to do it again? I don't think so, I have faith in ya kid!

Speaking of chalk, Nini said you like to draw and color more than a lot of the other kids at school. You seem to really like to color and make your art projects. You're so proud and you come running to me, "Wook what I made!" And its cute when anytime you "write" anything, you say, "Wook at my name Mommy!" There's your little artistic side. I will always make room on the fridge for your master pieces.

A few days ago a lady at the grocery store said you were a big boy and she said that you should be a football player. That was just when we started noticing that people weren't commenting on your size anymore. Your little waist is even getting smaller. I've had to take in the waist of a few pairs of your short as they are falling off your little bottom. (By "take in" I mean adjusting the adjustable waist band.) The point is, you're thinning out, and I'm a little sad about it. Enjoy this time in your life where chunky rules.

Loves you little one,
Mama

Until We Meet Again

Come Wednesday on my vacation, uncle Derek and auntie Chris had to leave and return to the big bad city. It was sad to see them go, but what are ya gonna do? Just some quiet reflection by the lake, and then headed out to the bar for some pull tabs, and I was all better.

The next day, just to shake things up and add some fresh blood to the mix, Brookie and Jerrid showed up! We continued with lots of fishing. I swear all we did was eat and fish. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I love to fish. That, and sometimes I like to do hair, but that's another story altogether.

After swimming and fishing all day, the evenings were filled getting tucked up on the couch, settling in to watch the Olympics, and having Grandma feed me ice cream. Sometimes its nice to be doted on. Admit it! Wanna see my toes? Here!

We left on Saturday, but not before a very fancy breakfast at Burger King. Hey, they have a play area, I love it! Thank you to G&GE for a great week of fun. It went by way too fast, but we're already looking forward to next year!

Far and away,

Roughin' It

Its hard to recap a week of doing nothing but fishing and doing nothing. So I thought I'd just share with you a few of my favorite pictures from my vacation. Above is the whole fam posing in front of our cabin. I love how Mom calls it camping. Yeah, she's really roughin' it.

As planned I got to go fishing with my daddy and my grandpa as much as I wanted. We spent time looking at lily pads, eating out, and of course running. As usual, even up nort', we had to fight off the paparazzi after I spent the day showing off my mad hoop skills. There were bears playing tennis. And Daddy even took me on a paddle boat ride.

That should do ya for today, and that covers about half of the vacation. Tomorrow I'll let you in on the second half.

Pretty as pudding pie,

Remember When...

Regretfully we're back from vacation. Everyone is swamped with back logged work, so just a cute picture of me and my daddy playing in the sand one day. Ahhh, those were the days.

Final Preparations

Today is the last day before we head out on vacation! I have to help Daddy go pick up the boat, then gas 'er up, and then wash it. Mom is in charge of laundry and packing. She always gets stuck with the boring jobs. I'm very excited to get away for awhile. Just to get out of the city, get away from the phone and the computer will do us all a lot of good. Which reminds me to tell you posting will either be right on track or this maybe one of the last ones. I'm not sure if they have WiFi at the resort.

Just in case, I would like to send out a few shout outs to acknowledge some event that I'll miss while I'm gone: Happy birthday to auntie Shally on Sunday, beautiful lady. Happy birthday to Mom's friend Dan R. on Wednesday, we're happy to have you back in MN, we must lunch soon. Last but not least on Thursday is my bestest friend P-MAN's birthday! Dude, we'll totally party when I get back.

Have a good one everybody, we'll chat soon, GO USA!!

Like white on rice,

Bottoms Up

Just because I'm two now, and a big boy (I'll be the first to tell you that I am NOT a baby), doesn't mean I don't like to still sleep with my bottom in the air. Because I do, and I love it.

Secret Revealed

This week we're preparing for our annual vacation up nort' in Brainerd. There's lots of organizing and shopping and both of my parents have that "Pre-vacation Buzz." I've never seen two people so checked out of everyday life and ready for vacation. I personally can't wait to go fishing with my daddy and my grandpa. It's all I can talk about. And, don't tell Mom but I've been playing in the sand box at school with NO SHOES OR SOCKS ON. I can't wait to show off.

Let 'er rip,

Weekend Wrap Up

If you know me, you know I love tractors. On the way to our vacation, Mom told me there was a tractor on the farm and that she thought I could probably ride it if I wanted too. Well, I yelled "YAY" as soon as I heard this news. I kept telling everyone that I was going to ride on the tractor. Well, when push came to shove, there was no way in h-e-double hockey sticks you were going to get me on that tractor. Patrick rode it, Lucy rode it, and Frannie rode it. But not me. I've dealt with it, and I'm OK with it...now.

I then decided to go swimming, because I knew I could excel at that. Maybe they are all expert tractor riders, but I can swim. When I say everyone went swimming, I mean everyone went swimming. After that we went back to running. We did a lot of running that weekend. And we did a lot of "Attack of Molly!" We collected a few bugs and then we found a frog! It was really gross and slimy, but I kind of liked it.

That about wraps up the weekend. I would like to send a special shout out to Mama and Papa McMahon for their hospitality and letting us wreck their home. We had such fun, and hopefully we can do it again next year!

Movers and shakers,
HAJ

Gator Attack

The next morning we went right back to rockin' on the porch. Then we wandered the grounds and found the greatest little sand box. All my friends were there including Rosaleen and Patrick and Lucy and Annie and Frannie. I guess Jasper was missing. (Notice how I don't like to get sand on me.) After some cake baking in the sand box, we headed back to the house for lunch. THEN I GOT TO RIDE ON THE GATOR WITH AUNTIE GINA! This may have been the greatest thrill of my life. It was so much fun that I cried when I had to get off to let someone else have a turn. After all the excitement we headed into the house to watch a movie and relax. We all snuggled in with our blankies. I think I had the best view in the house.

Rockin' Chair Rockin'

The first afternoon we arrived on the farm in SD, we started out doing a lot of front porch sitting and rocking chair rocking. There was so much to do and nothing to do all at the same time. I found myself just running because I could and there was nothing but space. We checked out the rocks in the yard. We tackled each other. We all got to eat together, and we got to eat outside which is one of my most favorite things to do. After all that, boy did I sleep well. Good thing, because the next day was jam packed with country livin'.

Mini JUGGS Reunion

This weekend I spent some time country livin' with my cousins and friends. We had an amazing, fun filled weekend that I can't begin to explain in only one post. So, I will fill you in on our adventures this week. For now I leave you with this great photo...can't wait to look at this again when we're all teenagers.

Keep your shirt on,
