Batton Down the Hatches

Well. since every body's talking about it, and when you live with it, it seems it consumes your life. Its going to blizzard again today. From what the "weather terrorists" are saying we could get anywhere from 3"-11". That's some range. They said it was supposed to hit at 10am. Well, its now 11:11am and we have nothing. But get aload of the current radar. WE'RE SURROUNDED! Here's a before shot of the back yard, I'll update you on the hysterics tomorrow.

Don't rush to judgement,
HAJ

PS - Special birthday shout out to WAURIE! Hope you have a wonderful day, and I love you Waurie!

PPS - Thank you to my auntie Niki for sending me this cool hat and maraca from Antigua...wherever that is. I hope I'm not tested!

Bump Watch 36 Weeks

This weekend we (Mom and I) went to a baby shower for my new cousin to be, Little Baby E. Now I know you're saying to yourself, aren't showers only for girls? Look, I'll go anywhere there are presents and cake and candy...am I right? It was fun even though Mom made me dress up. I spent the time playing cars and eating. Hey, wanna see a really good shot of the belly? Here's 36 weeks! Holy guacamole!

Signed, sealed and delivered,

Month 32 Archives

Dearest Henry,

Hey Buddy! You are the funniest little guy these days. I'm always looking forward to what's coming out of your mouth. You're even turning into a true Minnesotan, and getting sick of this weather! Everyday you've been asking if its time to go on a bike ride yet, and when I say no and that its still too cold, you just say "Yep!" Its comin' kid. Here's the skinny, if you can get through January, its all down hill. February is when you're stuck in the middle, but March...March is when you gets tastes of what's to come and things are coming back to life. I bet we get on our bikes at least once next month.

There are a couple things I want to tell you about yourself. The one that really cracks us up is your new southern accent you've developed. I don't know if we were in Texas during a critical point when you were really developing your tone or what, but every thing's got twang. You say things like this, "I dropped it aga-yan (again)" or "I want it nay-ow (now)". Its just so funny; I wonder how long it will stick around.

You are also becoming very scared of monsters. We try to tell you there are no monsters, but you know otherwise. So at least we have you convinced that they go to bed when its dark out, which makes sense. There's also a certain "scary" face that I do that makes you think I'm a monster. You get a little scared, and then you start yelling "Mommy, wake up! Are you in there? Can you hear me?" Again, funny. I love that you think this crazy monster takes over my body, but if you yell loud enough the real me comes back.

For Valentine's Day we bought you the kids version of the Seabiscuit book. Of course that was a no brainer, and you love the book and need to have it read to you constantly, even though you have it basically memorized. But my favorite part is when you say "Sea-bik-sut" and his opponent War Admiral is "War-ammrrll". I know you need to learn to pronounce words correctly, but I just love your little tongue twists. Oh, and you're becoming a pro at knowing that green means go, and red means stop. And I love that you "can't remember" the color yellow, so you just say its sun. Perfect.

On Saturday we took you to your first play, Jesus Christ Super Star. Bridget directed the play, and it was Frannie and Lucy's debut! It was really fun, and we were all so impressed that you sat through the whole thing, and listened and danced. It was a little scary a couple times, but you just grabbed my arm and sat there so good. Maybe you want to be an actor, and that's OK, but I was so excited that 3 times during the play you asked me if we could go play baseball, and let me know you were going to wear a mitt. There ya go!

Loves you booger butt, Mama

Bird Feeders

So this morning, Dad and I had a little spare time, so we began working on the Honey Do list Mommy made for him. Among many, many chores we did, we also realized the bird feeders need to be refilled. This involved hopping in the truck and heading out to the local hardware store and bought a big bag of feed.

When we got home, I headed right to where we keep the bird feeders, and started refilling them. Good thing we did...looks like there were a few hungry birds here and there.

Construction Helmut

I got a real life hard helmet from a real life construction company for Christmas from my pal Palmer. His uncle Nik works for this company and got it for me. Since knows how much I love dump trucks and construction and all that kind of stuff. But to be honest, my one true love is still my garbage truck. I wonder if I can get a garbage man helmet?

Don't Mind Me

I have a love/hate relationship with Kung Fu Panda. I love the panda, and the other characters, but the scary monster cat is too scary and this is how I sit and watch it. That's me, under blankie.

Riding Big Brown

Did I ever tell you like horsies? I love all kinds of horses and I am pretty good at riding them. I can ride like a jockey, or I know how to make them stop. In case you're wondering where I am most parts of my day...wonder no more.

Bump Watch 2009 - Week 34

Ok, ok, I know its been a long time since I've updated the Bump Watch 2009. For whatever reason, I just haven't seen Auntie for a few weeks, and so she and Little Baby E have been neglected. Well, you're in for a real treat. Those of you wearing bi-focals, go ahead and take them off now. You won't need them. I introduce to you....Week 34.

The Show Must Go On

Yesterday was Martina's birthday and we had big plans for taking her to dinner to celebrate...but..tradegy struck, and Pman got sick. Not just sick, he got the dreaded "pooks". So, being who we are and most of us already on the way to the party, we decided the show must go on. Happy Birthday Martina, we had a great time, wish you were there!

PS - In case you're wondering, Pman is doing GREAT today, and feeling "so nice" today!

Double Doozie

Today is my Gpa E's birthday! Happy birthday Gampa! Hope you have a super duper day. Thank you for all the fun we had this weekend. I promise someday I'll get over this fear of parking lots so you don't have to carry me where ever we go...but secretly, I hope you can always carry me. You give the best rides!

Love you Gampa, Henry

PS - Not to be second class, or ever forgotten...Its Martina's birthday today too! Yay! Thank you for giving me my best pal, (Pman) and can't wait to the other little guy to get out here and play too. Make Palmer give you breakfast in bed!

Bring Your Own Auger

Just when you thought I had such a great weekend, what with Chuck E. Cheese and the rodeo and all. I bet you thought it couldn't get any better. Well you were wrong! On Saturday morning Daddy took me ice fishing with him and Jerrid! I know! It was so exciting. I really liked and only fell on the ice once. Being out on a frozen lake is nice. You can play peek-a-boo while running around Dad's ice house. Or, its a nice place to just be alone with your thoughts to ponder life.

We might as well get our ears wet,

I Wanna Be a Cowboy

Saturday night my parents took me to the rodeo to watch the World's Toughest Cowboy contest. We found out after we were there, its actually a reality show produced by Mark Burnett on Spike TV Thursday nights. The winner gets a ranch in Wyoming. Jeez, maybe I want a ranch in Wyoming. No one asked me. Anyway, it was so great, I mean you know how I am with horses and stuff. We were only 8 rows up, and we were right next to the shutes. Its like the cowboys were right there. The only scary part was the fireworks at the beginning, but once that was done I was good to go.

Here's a taste of the bare back for ya:

We really got into the event. I wore my cowboy hat and my horsie shirt, and Mom even dug out her old cowboy boots. I really liked the bull riding, look at this guy get bucked off. This is my favorite cowboy. He's only 5'4", but he was definitely the toughest guy out there. He got knocked out at one point, and then 10 minutes later he's back on a bull. Whoa. Here's a taste of the bull riding for you, and also a bit of The Wave:

The funniest part of the night was watching Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey. He was so funny how he bounced around on his doggie, and he was really good at herding sheep. If you have a sec, watch this video of him making these sheep go exactly where he wants them:

What a great night and I can't wait to go again. If you're around on March 5th, be sure to tune into Toughest Cowboy on Spike TV (check your local listings. I've always wanted to say that) and see if you can see us on TV. We're to the right of the shoots and of course Mom is wearing black, so there should be no problem in spotting us. Not.

Show me some guts,
HAJ

PS - Happy birthday to Tom today! Here's a little shout out to my guitar hero.

Chuck E. Cheese Old Pro

I have so much to talk about today! I had a GREAT weekend, jam packed with fun and frolic! I don't know where to begin, so I'm going to begin at the beginning. Friday I got to go to lunch with Pman at Chuck E. Cheese. This was my first time. We had a ton of fun drinking lemonade and going on rides. My favorite ride was the school bus. If I wasn't in the school bus, I wasn't happy. There was the Bob the Builder ride, Barney tractor ride, and Fetch the Vet ride, but nothing compares to the school bus. Palmer, being the daredevil that he is, rode this clock ride, where it takes you in a big circle, but that kind of stuff is not for me. I don't do my own stunts.

The inner man,
HAJ
