Once In a Very Blue Moon

Today is the seventh anniversary of my big brother Charlie's passing. A day doesn't go by that we don't think of him, and wonder what it would be like. I can say "Charlie" now. Mom and Dad have been working with me on it. And I say brother, but of course, I don't fully understand. If you have a moment, take a look back on the details of this day seven years ago, and then read the lyrics of the song below. This song was sung to him a few days before he left us, and it is even more true today.

Words & Music By Patrick Alger & Gene Levine Michael H. Goldsen INC. Bait and Beer Music (ASCAP)
I found your letter in my mailbox today. You were just checkin' if I was okay. And if I miss you, well, you know what they say ...
Just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon and I feel one comin' on soon
No need to tell me, you'd like to be friends and help me get back on my feet again. If I miss you at all ... it's just now and then
Just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon and I feel one comin' on soon
There's a blue moon shinin'when I am reminded of all we've been through. Such a blue moon ... shinin'. Does it ever shine down on you? You act as if it never hurt you at all. Like I'm the only one who's gettin' up from a fall. Don't you remember? Can't you recall?
Just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon, just once ... in a very blue moon and I feel one comin' on soon ... just once ... in a very ... blue moon

Yes, Char has been on my mind too a lot the past few days. Yesterday I was sitting in the break room by myself thinking about the day your sweet brother went to heaven. One of my nurse colleagues, Lorrie, came in and sat down with me and started telling me about a baby shower she recently attended and the mom-to-be asked her to sing the song "Masterpiece" by Sandi Patty. For a moment, time stood still. I hadn't thought about that song in a long time. It was my personal song about Charlie that I played over and over in my car during those days. I asked her to sing it for me (she sings like Molly...loooovvvvely). She sang it for me there in the break room and the tears....well they came and Lorri asked me why and I told her about Charlie. She told me that Charlie was there with us in that break room and he planned the whole thing. She said she felt God's presence there too. So there, that's my Charlie story for the year. He definately was a masterpiece.

Love never forgets,
Grame

P.S. Hanry, Here are the lyrics to the song Masterpiece (it all holds true for you too, just so you know):

Lyrics:
Before you had a name or opened up your eyes
Or anyone could recognize your face.
You were being formed so delicate in size
Secluded in God's safe and hidden place.

With your little tiny hands and little tiny feet
And little eyes that shimmer like a pearl
He breathed in you a song and to make it all complete
He brought the masterpiece into the world.

You are a masterpiece
A new creation He has formed
And you're as soft and fresh as a snowy winter morn.
And I'm so glad that God has given you to me
Little Lamb of God, you are a masterpiece.
And now you're growing up your life's a miracle
Everytime I look at you I stand in awe
Because I see in you a reflection of me
And you'll always be my little lamb from God

And as your life goes on each day
How I pray that you will see
Just how much your life has meant to me.

And I'm so proud of you
What else is there to say?
Just be the masterpiece He created you to be.

Henry,
Wow - across the miles...thinkin' of your sweet loving family as we all fondly remember your lil' angel bro Charlie. I know it's hard to believe Henry, but he was the "cutest" until you came along. Now, we've fallen in love with you and your bro is watching over you and... maybe he is running, jumping, and singing right along with you when you are playing! ANGELS ARE THE BEST BUDS HENRY.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to your mama and Grama E - I can speak from experience... you are blessed to have those gals in your life.

Love you today and every day. GAM

Henry-

I don't know what else to say except I love you and your cute family so much! I wish I had known your mommy and daddy back then so I could have give them big hugs of support. With that said I am available for hugs ANY DAY ANY TIME NOW. You have no idea how wonderful your parents are and how lucky you are. I hope when I am a parent I am half as great as they are.

Loves,

Auntie Brookie
